Grant has family in the San Francisco area, and last minute we decided to visit this past weekend. So I booked us a hotel in downtown using HotelTonight for Saturday night so we could celebrate our 3 year anniversary that night, and spend Sunday with his family.
I found some amazing prices on last minute hotels through HotelTonight, and decided on G hotel in union square. So glad we chose this place! Very hip and decorated a bit mid century, my favorite. The manager checked us in and asked why we were in town and upgraded our room when we told him we were there to celebrate our anniversary.
Courtney had given us a recommendation for dinner nearby: Leo’s Oyster Bar. It was a bit pricey, but so delicious! We got raw oysters, clam chowder, and steamed clams! I of course ordered a champagne cocktail called Bubble Bath! And our waitress brought us an amazing chocolate ganache desert when she found out it was our anniversary. The decor was on point! Highly recommend.
We asked our waitress for a recommendation on any bars nearby, and one she suggested was the cocktail bar at our hotel! Benjamin Cooper. It was dark, packed, and the drinks were strong. Perfect way to end the night. We just had a quick elevator ride to our suite on the 12th floor.
& of course, whiskey for him, and champagne for me.
The next day I convinced grant to take me to this bakery nearby. That bakery being Mr. Holmes Bakehouse! of course the place was packed and we had to wait in line. The place is tiny! So of course, I attempted to snap a quick insta pic before we left. The cruffins(croissant muffins) were bomb(although the flavor of the day had some nuts in the creme filling which wasn't my favorite. I was actually surprised how good their jelly filled donut of the day was! It was raspberry! The dough is really what gets me. They cover it with cinnamon and sugar,so good! I usually try to keep my diet mostly "keto", but of course I had to splurge! life is all about balance.
We walked around union square before headed to brunch to visit with grants family. Then we drove back to Palm Springs and got in at about midnight! What a busy eventful weekend full of lots of driving! Ha. I do have to admit, I'm craving those oysters now!
